The Black Cat is 9 page short story based on Edgar Allen Poe. In the Story the man loves his cat and wife. However in drunken rage he ends up killing his cat. When a new cat appears with one eye missing just like his previous cat the man assumes that it is haunting him for his sins. Through rage the man grabs his axe and swings for the cat hitting his wife instead. By the end of the story the wife's body is found as the cat lives once more.
